Leading the team is TMG president Gary Mihalik, MD, MBA, FAPA, is a physician surveyor for the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) and was a member of NCQA’s Behavioral Health Task Force, which developed the accreditation standards, surveyor guidelines and scoring guidelines for managed behavioral health care organizations (MBHO). He is a faculty member for NCQA’s field education and surveyor training programs on an array of topics such as Health Plan Accreditation Standards, MBHO Accreditation Standards, Credentialing, Delegation, Quality Improvement, and Surveyor Update training programs. Dr. Mihalik continues his role as a consultant for NCQA by developing surveyor guidelines and instructions to improve consistency of survey outcomes. Under his direction, TMG brings together consultants whose qualifications reach well beyond expert knowledge of NCQA standards to include significant first-hand professional experience in health care.
