Dr. Alan Rapaport is a physician consultant with The Mihalik Group, LLC, and brings a wealth of experience from his decade-long tenure as a physician surveyor for The Joint Commission. Certified under the hospital accreditation program, Dr. Rapaport surveyed for both the hospital accreditation and office-based surgery programs. He frequently surveys Military and Veterans Affairs facilities.

 

In his role at The Joint Commission, Dr. Rapaport functioned as a team leader for on-site triennial surveys, conducted numerous on-site periodic performance reviews (PPRs) for hospitals, and was part of the corporate team leader cadre. As surveyor faculty, he led many educational programs for The Joint Commission.

 

Dr. Rapaport is also an obstetrician/gynecologist who had a private practice in Denver, Colorado, and served as an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of Colorado Health Science Center. He was an attending physician at Presbyterian/St. Lukes Medical Center, Rose Medical Center, and Swedish Medical Center in Denver. In the business arena, he was the Chief Operating Officer and Medical Review Officer for American Pre-Employment Screening Services, Inc.

 

At Presbyterian/St. Lukes Medical Center, Dr. Rapaport served on numerous committees and held various appointments, including Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Chairman of the Quality Committee for the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Vice Chairman of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, and Chairman of the Laser Committee.

 

Dr. Rapaport received his MD from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan, and holds an MBA from the University of Denver. He completed his residency and internship in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Sinai Hospital of Detroit. He holds a current medical license in Colorado and is a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Beta Gamma Sigma (MBA Academic Honor Society). He is an Emeritus Fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
