Dr. Elise Gropper is a nurse consultant with The Mihalik Group, LLC. She has extensive knowledge and understanding of The Joint Commission standards and specializes in areas such as Joint Commission accreditation, CMS regulatory compliance, ANCC Magnet Recognition Program®, CARF accreditation, staff development, performance improvement, and patient care redesign. Since 1995, Dr. Gropper has served as a consultant to hospitals, behavioral health organizations, home health agencies, long-term care facilities, ambulatory care centers, surgicenters, and physician offices.
Before transitioning to consulting, Dr. Gropper held significant roles including Associate Executive Director of Nursing at Elmhurst Hospital in New York and Vice President of Patient Care Services at Miami Heart Institute in Miami Beach, FL. She also served on the Test Development Committee for Nursing Administration Advanced by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) from 1995 to 2004.
Dr. Gropper has held positions as assistant and associate professor of nursing at several universities. Her most recent appointment was as an adjunct associate professor at Lynn University in Boca Raton, FL, where she taught Nursing Leadership and Management and Nursing Research for more than 10 years.
Dr. Gropper holds a bachelor's degree in nursing, a master's degree in nursing administration, and a doctorate in health and human services. She is a board-certified Nurse Executive, Advanced, and a Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality through the National Association for Healthcare Quality. Additionally, she has authored more than 25 articles on management and patient care issues.
