Mr. Avishek Kumar is a seasoned healthcare quality leader with over 20 years of expertise in Quality Assessment and Improvement, specializing in NCQA accreditation and HEDIS performance. As Executive Director of The Mihalik Group, LLC, he leads national initiatives to improve compliance, elevate HEDIS scores, and optimize Stars Ratings through strategic consulting and tailored improvement plans.

 

Mr. Kumar has been a featured presenter at the NCQA HEDIS Best Practices Seminars and leads the firm’s HEDIS and Stars Improvement Practice, where he has successfully helped numerous organizations enhance their healthcare quality metrics. His extensive experience includes readiness assessments, strategic planning, and performance improvement efforts that consistently yield measurable results.

 

Previously, Mr. Kumar served as Director for HEDIS and Stars at Care1st Health Plan, where he implemented interventions that improved encounter data accuracy and HEDIS rates. At AIDS Healthcare Foundation, he held the position of National Director for Quality and Accreditation, achieving Medicare deemed accreditation from AAAHC in under a year.

 

At L.A. Care, one of the nation’s largest Medicaid health plans, Mr. Kumar led comprehensive HEDIS reporting and data-driven quality improvement initiatives as the HEDIS Project Lead/Senior Clinical Data Analyst. His leadership resulted in significant performance gains through the deployment of real-time data systems and multi-year strategic plans.
