Catherine Gitimu, MBA, MS

Catherine Gitimu is an NCQA consultant with The Mihalik Group, bringing extensive expertise from her prior role as Senior Manager of Accreditation Policy at the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA). She specializes in NCQA Accreditation standards and guidelines, with deep experience in quality management, credentialing, delegation, health equity, utilization management, and compliance for Health Plans, MBHOs, UM organizations, and CVOs.

At NCQA, Ms. Gitimu led the development and publication of annual Accreditation standards and guidelines across multiple products. She presented proposed updates to NCQA’s Standards Committee, incorporated public feedback, and resolved complex issues identified during surveys. She also worked closely with NCQA’s sales and operations teams to guide organizations through prequalification and enhance survey processes.

Ms. Gitimu has served as faculty for NCQA seminars, surveyor training, and the NCQA Speakers Bureau, delivering education on Health Plan Accreditation, credentialing, UM, and delegation standards. In addition, she contributed as an administrative surveyor, providing practical, hands-on insight into accreditation processes.

​

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science from the University of Nairobi, a Master of Science in Information Management from Sheffield University, and an MBA from The George Washington University.
